Ahmed Shihab, former VP for infrastructure hardware at AWS, has joined Microsoft Azure as corporate vice president for storage. At AWS, he oversaw innovation, build, and operation of compute and storage systems.
Shihab’s move comes amidst some senior leadership changes at AWS, including the departure of the head of data center design and the interim head of AWS India. AWS remains the largest public cloud provider, with Azure in second place and Google Cloud in third.
